20 April - 27 April: Script Writing and re-doing the themes of the story
20 April - 27 April: Script writing and treatment redo
Glitch Techs Pilot
A short Pilot I found for the Nickelodeon show "Glitch techs", a good example of a recent short pilot sequences used to sell the show. The 57 second video is a bit adjusted to deal with some copyright issues, but it goes into the simple version of what the show is about, colorful quirky characters using cool tech to fight video game monsters.
This is also a good look at an ideal end component for the project. Having a short animated sequence to show off (with music) would be a good sub-piece or even center-piece. The thing to keep in mind is that the video was made by a studio and being a solo worker on the project might mean I don't have the time to dedicate to making a minute long animation along with all the other design work.

Script writing
I have done a quick script write up just to get an idea of what some basic character interactions might look like and get back into the swing of script writing in general. The aim is to have at least a 5 minute pilot script draft before the presentation on May 11, possible with some additional versions.
Anti-Consumerism References
Have decide to look into Anti-Consumerism as an additional angle to the environmentalism leaning of the project. This could be an interesting line of inquiry, but it could be more of a social problem.

- Allegory: Be specific - if you are going to have a allegory working within the confines of your story, think about how and why it works and look it specifics subject matter. If you are looking at poaching and the hunting of animals harming the environment, what animals are you specifically investigating
- In terms of the project there are two main focuses at the moment, First: the hunting of whales in both the 18th-20th century vs. how it is today and how the public feels about it, Secondly: Oil and its place in the modern world, how much of the western world's economy is driven by it and its mining and use affect the planet and population.
- Look into society's relations when it comes to resource sharing and resource control - What are the consequences of cooperation and conflict in this area?
- Creature writing: The Emotional tie - The Fuamh are the center pieces of the story, how is the audience meant to get invested into the conflict between human and Giant? How are the audience meant to view these creature at the beginning of the story versus the end of the story?
- Simplify the argument: Say what you need to - Try to focus on telling the story as quickly as possible. What does the audience need to know? What is the hook of the show? The argument of the show needs to be seen in the pilot sequence, they need to understand the basics of the world.
